Wow!!! There is really no other way to start this blog post – this was such a beautiful, bright, colourful and fun wedding. Ben & Juanita are so much fun to photograph, no matter what the circumstances their happy and relaxed personalities shine through 😄 We had a pretty big weather challenge on their engagement shoot, but despite this had a ridiculous amount of fun, check out this adventure here.
Ben & Juanita’s day started with both of the the couple getting ready at Ben’s mum’s house. I love wedding mornings, the laughter, family, friends and bustle. There was so much positive energy around these guys, their families and friends were so welcoming and warm to us. During a wedding day there are always moments that are almost indescribable, when mum & dad see their daughter dressed up for her wedding for the first time, the kiss, and the special interactions between people. Watching Juanita and Tamara (maid of honour) help each other get ready was lovely, both have an awesome sense of humour which kept me sporadically giggling behind the camera. I also witnessed Tamara give the most lovely pre-wedding pep talk which nearly had me in tears (despite my seasoned wedding photographer exterior!).
Despite a bit of early rain, when Juanita walked down the isle with her dad the sun was shining and all the bright colours of the wedding party and guests merged beautifully with the gorgeous flora colours in the ‘Cork’s Cottage’ garden. The rest of the day was a colourful blur of laughter and sunshine. With the reception being held up the hill at Talunga Estate, where despite the chilly evening, it was super cosy and warm and decorated with gorgeous fairy lights and rustic embellishments. The spontaneous and heartfelt speeches for this couple, towards the end of the night, were incredible; what an amazing, relaxed and fun wedding! I hope you enjoy the photographs as much as I enjoyed taking them <3
