Port Willunga was the perfect location for Steph and Nathan’s engagement shoot. This couple both love adventuring, hiking and other outdoor activities, so we chatted about a photography location that would perfectly suit them. Its so important for engagement sessions to be meaningful and location is a big part of that. We setup a little tour map around the area, that would provide some beach and parks, which included my favourite field of wheat! However, the night before Steph and I were texting about the session, and she came across another interesting location to add to the list; Blanch Point. Despite having visited Port Willunga many times I had never been to Blanch Point. Blanche Point was a stunning place to kick off our session, sculptured cliffs opening out into a wide blue ocean – pretty much a photographers dream!
Steph and Nathan were great to photograph, super easy going and their strong connection was lovely to capture. From Blanche point we headed to ‘the wheat field’ which, despite its slightly less romantic roadside location, has an amazing backdrop of the hills. Our last stop was the beach for the golden hour, and we were blessed with an amazing sunset – that just kept on getting more beautiful every time we decided to head off! We even managed to get a few quick photographs at the iconic jetty ruins – this was pretty brave of the couple because at sunset on a Saturday there is swath of photographers, akin to the red carpet paparazzi, capturing the sun as it sets!
