When we arrived at the vineyard it was perfect wedding weather; blue skies and in the mid twenties. Our first visit was to Steph and her bridesmaids who were getting ready. Wedding mornings are so much fun, there is an amazing energy and lots of laughter. Steph’s bridesmaids have an awesome sense of humour.
One of the main challenges of the morning, was to ensure that Nathan didn’t see Steph in her wedding dress. With all the bridal party staying at the vineyard this required some careful logistics. My assistant Naila also managed to get a great workout by running up the hill to prevent an early sighting!
The wedding ceremony was picture perfect against a backdrop of rolling hills. I particularly loved when Steph and Nathan presented their soon to be mother-in-laws with a single rose. After the ceremony and family photos, the bridal party headed up the hill.
Steph wins the award for most intrepid bride. Managing to walk up the hill in heels and a full wedding dress to our couple and bridal party photo location! The distance seemed a lot closer when we covered it during the wedding location scout. Despite her hiking skills, we opted for a car for the return journey! One of the highlights of the couple photos was watching the newlyweds practise their first dance on the road.
Before I knew it we were heading up the hill again for some final couple photos against the sunset. The sunset delivered some amazing pinks and dusky hues. Photographing Steph and Nathan is always fun. They have such a gorgeous connection and an awesome sense of humour. I know these guys are going to be very happy together. I think these photo’s tell it far better than words – enjoy!
